We lived across the street from Mrs. Roberts many years ago and fished on her dock. The place has changed hands since then but remains an institution on the island. Not only can you pick up a few grocery items here, but this is the place to grab lunch to go. Deli sandwiches, their very famous Chicken Salad (also sold at Harris Teeter), and our favorite – the fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. Tip: Chicken is best if you get it just before the lunch crowd.
